At the outset we determine the building's current electrical capacity with and without load management systems (LMS).

EV load will NOT exceed electrical capacity

The most straightforward scenario. EV chargers can be added to the existing electrical network without expensive upgrades. Many apartment buildings already have sufficient capacity to support significant EV charging.

EV load will exceed capacity — LMS can solve it

Minor upgrades and a Load Management System (LMS) are required. A staged rollout keeps initial costs low while still providing EV charging for residents. Shared charging stations and scheduling can help.

EV load significantly exceeds the site electrical capacity

Major infrastructure upgrades are needed. The most complex and costly scenario — and thankfully the least common. Upgrades can be staged over time as EV adoption increases in the building.
